Through the course of his 2016 presidential campaign, one of Bernie Sanders’ positions that allured his supporters was his criticism of the military industrial complex.
Though leftists were deafeningly silent about Obama’s wars throughout his 8 years in office, Sanders seemed to briefly rekindle a fire in the anti-war left.
But the allegedly anti-war Sanders is now coming out in support of regime change in Syria, an action that would require heavy artillery and boots on the ground.
Speaking with NBC’s Meet the Press this past weekend, Sanders said,
“We’ve got to work with countries around the world for a political solution to get rid of [Assad] to finally bring peace and stability to this country that has been so decimated.”
