Dan Crenshaw Tells Kaitlin Bennett He’s “Been Thinking Seriously” About Red Flag Gun Laws For Years
Freshman Congressman Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) has drawn the ire of 2nd amendment fundamentalists after endorsing red flag gun laws in the wake of the recent tragedies in El Paso and Dayton. Crenshaw, who promised Texans that he “will never allow the government to prevent law-abiding citizens from defending themselves”, has been on the defensive after numerous conservatives felt betrayed by his proposal.
After Kaitlin Bennett criticized Crenshaw for his support of red flag laws, the Texas Congressman messaged her on Twitter to complain about her activism. In their brief conversation, Crenshaw revealed to Bennett that he his support for red flag laws is not new. Crenshaw told Bennett, “I’ve been thinking seriously about this policy for years. It was not something I just recently heard of.”
Crenshaw’s message to Bennett comes just days after it was unveiled that he met with Mom’s Demand Action back in February to discuss red flag gun laws.
Watch Bennett’s video below, where she goes into detail about what the Congressman from Texas told her.
