The Socialist Republic of California Needs to Fall Into the Ocean
If you’ve been following Liberty Hangout for a while now, you know that we are the biggest proponents of state secession. We supported the Brexit, we supported the idea of a Texit when it was being thrown around, and we now support the calls for a Calexit.
Why do we support a left-wing state seceding from the union if we are libertarians, you may ask? Because decentralization gets us closer to property norms, and brings power closer to the individual. If the ultimate goal of libertarianism is to restore all property rights to the individual, then we must begin by restoring the right to influence geographical territories first to the states, then to the counties, then the towns, and from there each individual or voluntary community.
