The emergence of Trump has segregated the GOP into splinter groups. I don’t remember the last time Fox News was at war with a Republican nominee, which is a great thing. If the voter base who supposedly believes in constitutional originalism and any semblance of the spirit of 1787 are looking for a candidate more in line with their views, a huge chunk of Republicans will be looking for a candidate outside the GOP. On the flip side of that coin, many Democrats are tired of the Clinton dynasty and abhor the anti-immigration, anti-civil liberty candidate with the golden comb over. Petersen provides a chance to bring some of them in as well. This will lead both sides to an education about Lasseiz Faire economics, personal property rights, Milton Friedman, and non-interventionism.
