Libertarian Party Vice Presidential Candidate, Bill Weld, Supports Obamacare Mandate

Libertarian Party Vice Presidential candidate, Bill Weld, recently sat down with Yahoo Finance to talk about his campaign with Gary Johnson. He talked about how him and Gary are running on a platform that promotes fiscal responsibility and social tolerance, and delved a bit into their strategy to get into the presidential debates.

Weld also talked about his preferred policies with Yahoo Finance, and he said something about the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare, that will make every libertarian and small government conservative’s head spin.

In his interview with Yahoo, Weld said, “I understand that if you want to cut costs, you’ve got to get more people in the system, so I always supported the mandatory feature there, unlike most Republicans, because I know that if you don’t do that, you’re not going to get the 28-year-old bartender who’s making $125,000 a year into the system and he’ll not insure and then when he breaks his leg skiing at Sugarbush, he’ll show up at the emergency room.”
