BREAKING: UN Officials Wage War Against Free Speech

Following Charlottesville, the United Nations decided to assume the mantle of Big Brother and tell the US that it needs to criminalize hate speech and the exclusion of minorities from private enterprises. I’m not kidding. You can find their “warning” here. For the rest of this article, I will be referring to the UN as “Big Brother” whereas they have clearly taken Orwell’s 1984 as a guide rather than a warning.

Big Brother begins its thought policing by saying: “there should be no place in the world for racist white supremacist ideas or any similar ideologies that reject the core human rights principles of human dignity and equality and seek to degrade the standing of individuals and groups on the grounds of race, colour, descent, or national or ethnic origin.” This is a classic example of leftists attempting to legislate morality.

To be clear, so long as you do not violate the non-aggression principle, you are not violating anyone’s rights, and you therefore have the right to believe whatever you wish, no matter how repugnant. Rather than allow for civil discourse, Big Brother would rather use the gun of the State to eliminate ideas it does not like. Big Brother chooses to push they who commit thought crimes into a corner which will force them to lash out.

Regardless of the thought crimes, Big Brother has no idea what a right is. If one reads the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, one will see that Big Brother grants the right to travel, asylum, democracy, social security, equal pay and employment, rest and leisure, healthcare, and education. In other words, Big Brother Believes in positive rights. Big Brother believes that he can compel me to provide for you. Big Brother believes that you are owed something by virtue of the fact that you are a human. Big Brother does not understand that the only thing owed to you is the right to not have your property rights violated. That is it.

In addition, this memo recognizes “equality” to be a right. Big Brother clearly admires the world of Harrison Bergeron in which everyone is equally stupid, disabled, and hideous. Big Brother does not realize that we are all individuals with varying abilities, cultures, and potential. Big Brother sees equality as a self-evident virtue, when it is nothing more than a revolt against nature.

Also, Big Brother condemned President Trump’s response to Charlottesville. But all Trump did was condemn violence on both sides. I suppose that means that violence from the Left is acceptable according to Big Brother.

These aren’t even the most disturbing aspects of Big Brother’s warning.

Although there are several articles pertaining to this warning, none which I have come across mention the final call to action which Big Brother gave to the United States: “…ensure that the rights to freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly are not exercised with the aim of destroying or denying the rights and freedoms of others, especially the right to equality and non-discrimination, and that the Government of the United States of America provide the necessary guarantees so that such rights are not misused to promote racist hate speech and racist crimes.”

In other words, Big Brother is calling upon the United States to abolish the First Amendment. Big Brother believes that Hate Speech is in fact a crime. Not even the ACLU, an admittedly communist organization, goes that far. Big Brother openly contradicts itself in this clause as well. While it claims one has the right to association, it claims one also has the right to non-discrimination. The right to association implies the right to disassociation. In other words, one has the right to discriminate.

Discrimination goes well beyond race, sex, religion, and other matters. Discrimination can apply to opinion, way of life, and any other reason. People have the right to disassociate with people for any reason whatsoever in the same way people have the right to voluntarily associate with whomever they please.

I also doubt Big Brother has read the First Amendment. The First Amendment does not mention hate speech. The only form of speech which is not protected is speech which calls for initiatory violence against an individual or a group and that is it.

Also, Big Brother contradicts its own Universal Declaration of Human Rights here. Article 19 of the UDHR recognizes the freedom of thought, opinion, and expression; and it doesn’t consider hateful thoughts or opinions an exception. Also, Article 2 states: Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion (my emphasis), national or social origin, property, birth or other status.” Since Article 19 recognizes the freedom of expression and Article 2 grants that these rights apply to people regardless of opinion, even the most vile people have the right to express themselves. Hatred is not a crime, and it would fare Big Brother well to realize this.

So, what should be done? Simply put, America should leave the United Nations and stop funding it. Globalism is not libertarian, and this memo which Big Brother released should prove that to even the most ardent supporters of the UN within the Liberty Movement. It is time for America to take back her national sovereignty from the globalists and refuse to go back on the principles of the Founding Fathers.
