Trump to Approve Weapons Sale to 9/11 Financiers, Saudi Arabia

According to the Washington Times, President Trump is closing in on an arms deal with Saudi Arabia, which would send roughly $300 million in weaponry to the Islamic nation. The weaponry would include precision-guided missiles and F-16 fighter jets.

Saudi Arabia has a longstanding history of human rights violations, and was also a key financier in the September 11th terrorist attacks. For 15 years, 28 pages of the 9/11 Commission Report remained hidden from the public. But last summer, the 28 pages were finally declassified, ultimately revealing Saudi Arabia’s involvement in the attacks.

Trump’s arms deal also comes just months after the US Senate voted to send Saudi Arabia $1.15 billion in tanks, guns, and ammunition, which will raise questions as to why the Saudis are in need of an additional $300 million in weaponry.

Almost one year ago, on February 17th, 2016, Donald Trump told the world that if elected, “You will find out who really knocked down the World Trade Center. It wasn’t the Iraqis. You may find it’s the Saudis.”

This make’s Trump’s decision to send the Saudis $300 million all the more disturbing. It is unequivocally the largest blunder of his presidency thus far.
