Ocasio-Cortez Thinks Only Men Have to be 35 to Run for POTUS
Socialist congresswoman-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is perhaps best known not for being a socialist, but for her many gaffes over the course of the last year. This last week alone, Ocasio-Cortez made headlines again after threatening to subpoena Donald Trump Jr. for posting a meme of her.
She also recently recorded a video in which she claims that there are three chambers of government; the House, the Senate, and the Presidency.
According to Politico, this is not the only time Ocasio-Cortez has shown a misunderstanding of basic American civics. During a photoshoot with the publication, Ocasio-Cortez reportedly had a conversation with the photographer about running for president. The photographer noted that as a 29 year old, she won’t be able to run for president for another 6 years. Ocasio-Cortez’s response will leave you speechless.
“Although we’ve been joking that because the Equal Rights Amendment hasn’t been passed yet, the Constitution technically says he cannot run unless he’s 35. … So what we’ll do is we’ll force the Republican Party to pass the Equal Rights Amendment by threatening to run for president.”
Not only did Ocasio-Cortez provide us with another gaffe, but with more proof that she hasn’t actually read the Constitution. Article 2 Section 1 states “any person”, not “he”.
No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States.
Ocasio-Cortez continues to prove that she is both unfit to serve office, and is a giant moron.
