According to CNN, “Congresswoman-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will not be able to afford a Washington, DC, apartment until her salary kicks in when she assumes office in January.”
Instead of getting a job to pay for her bills until then, Ocasio-Cortez has instead complained that she will have to go three months without a salary, and therefore unable to find an apartment.
“I have three months without a salary before I’m a member of Congress. So, how do I get an apartment? Those little things are very real.”
Prior to beginning her campaign for Congress, Ocasio-Cortez worked at a restaurant, and has not indicated if she has any plans of returning before she heads to Washington in 2019.
Ocasio-Cortez complained on Twitter that her inability to afford an apartment is somehow a flaw in our electoral system.
There are many little ways in which our electoral system isn’t even designed (nor prepared) for working-class people to lead.
This is one of them (don’t worry btw – we’re working it out!)

Sorry Alexandria, but the only flaw here is your inability to comprehend that if you want something in life, you need to work for it and can’t expect others to have to foot the bill.
