The US Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Trump Administrations travel ban. This ruling will allow the travel ban to go into effect even while there are ongoing legal challenges.
The policy will bar entry by people from the countries of Syria, North Korea, Iran, Chad, Yemen, Somalia, and Libya.
While President Trump scored a victory, it is not over yet. Later this week the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the 4th Circuit Court of appeals will hold oral arguments on the legality of the travel ban. This order simply halts the injunctions that were previously blocking the travel ban.
Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor were the two dissenters from the Supreme Court’s order.
