THROWBACK: Weather Channel Founder Calls Bill Nye “Pretend Scientist in a Bow Tie”

With the premier of Bill Nye the Pseudscience Guy’s new show on Netflix, Bill Nye Saves the World, Nye’s scientific ignorance has been a recent topic of discussion.

From claiming that gender is on a spectrum to openly considering advocating for eugenics programs reminiscent of the One Child Policy of communist China, we are reminded that Bill Nye is nothing more than a “pretend scientist in a bow tie.”

In fact, one year ago today, John Coleman, founder of the Weather Channel, called Bill Nye just that.

Last year, a movie called Climate Hustle, which gave skeptical criticisms of climate change and global warming, was released much to the distaste of Nye. Nye is extremely public in his faith in climate change, going so far to call for the imprisonment of climate change skeptics. This remark was the “most awful thing since Galileo was jailed for saying the Earth was not the center of the Universe” in Coleman’s mind.

Coleman remarked of Nye, “I have always been amazed that anyone would pay attention to Bill Nye, a pretend scientist in a bow tie.”

Regardless of one’s views of climate change, imprisoning people for calling a theory into question is not scientific.  It is a promotion of dogma and peer review fraud. It is the suppression of facts that might disrupt your worldview with a government gun. It is tyranny. It is contrary to human liberty.

Coleman called it last year, Bill Nye is no science guy. He’s a hack with a leftist agenda that bows down to the First Church of Barack Obama.
