Conservative icon Milo Yiannopoulos has announced that he will be resigning from his position as senior editor of Breitbart News, according to The Hill.
Yiannopoulos announced in a statement:
“I would be wrong to allow my poor choice of words to detract from my colleagues’ important reporting, so today I am resigning from Breitbart, effective immediately. This decision is mine alone.”
Yiannopoulos was slated to be the keynote speaker at CPAC 2017 until a video which has been described as a defense of pedophilia resurfaced on the Internet. Though Yiannopoulos has refuted the claims and in fact said in the videos referenced that he condemns pedophilia and thinks the age of consent laws are about right, he was still disinvited from CPAC and lost his book deal nonetheless.
It is unclear what Milo’s next move will be, after departing from Breitbart. But one thing is for sure. Whether you love him or hate him, it doesn’t look like he’ll be going away any time soon.
