Facebook Targets Revered “Occupy Democrats Logic” Facebook Page

by CHRIS JOHNCOX

Facebook’s faulty reporting system has caused the near-fatal “unpublishing” feature once again, as many libertarian/right-wing bloggers on the social media site can relate to. This time, Zuckerberg’s going after one of the liberty community’s favorite’s; the beloved “Occupy Democrats Logic“, a Facebook created to poke fun at the leftist page “Occupy Democrats”, whose posts reached millions and whose likes were skyrocketing into the one hundred thousands. What did ODL do to warrant their potentially permanent unpublishing? They made a joke about leftist patron Saint, Franklin D. Roosevelt.

ODL admin GC informed Liberty Hangout around 11 PM pst that his page was threatened with permanent removal. When asked what the post was that warranted this, GC says it was this screenshot:

Though it is unclear how this image violates the arbitrary community standards, it does fit the narrative completely of the site’s very selective enforcement of them. After all, several prominent libertarian and conservative pages and bloggers such as Milo Yiannopoulos and Liberty Memes have also been threatened with unpublishing by social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter.

This isn’t the first time GC has been postblocked, however. In the past, ODL was informed it violated Facebook’s “community standards” by sharing a picture of a deceased Che Guevara captioned “my favorite picture of Che.”

GC plans on plans on making a backup page in the meantime, should Facebook do anything permanent to their primary page.
